How to Build an Affiliate Website: Step-by-Step Guide

In today's digital world, affiliate marketing is a popular way to earn money online by promoting a company's products or services and getting commissions for every successful sale.

It's a great way to generate passive income without worrying about inventory or shipping costs. In this article, we'll guide you through the process of building your affiliate website step-by-step.

Step 1:

Choose your Niche

 The first step

in building your affiliate website

is to choose your niche. Focusing on a specific topic will increase your chances of success. Look for affiliate products and services related to your niche. Don't forget to check the program's reputation and terms and conditions. It's also essential to check whether the program is available internationally or only in your country.

Consider potential transaction fees and check the available payment methods.

Step 2:

Get a hosting plan Since we'll be building a site with WordPress, we'll choose one of Hostinger's WordPress plans.

Choose a period for the WordPress Starter plan, and if you choose a 12-month or longer plan, you will get a free domain.

Create your account, select the payment method, and fill out all the required fields.

Don't forget to use the discount code "h810" to get an even more attractive price.

Step 3:

Set up your new hosting plan Once the purchase is complete, you can set up your new hosting plan from your Hostinger account's homepage. The guided setup will first ask you to create a WordPress account.

You will need it to access the WordPress admin area. Choose the website layout. There are many templates to choose from. Skip this for now, as we'll show you how to set up the website's layout later in this tutorial.

Step 4:

Choose a domain name Choose a domain name for your website. It's not only essential to help visitors find the site, but it's also part of your branding strategy. If you already started on your affiliate efforts on social media, it's a good idea to use your username as the domain name.

It will help people remember and recognize it.

If you're starting from scratch, use a short and clear name.

It'll be easier for visitors to spell and memorize it. Also, avoid hyphens or numbers as they can make your domain name

look unprofessional.

Step 5:

Register your domainAfter brainstorming some ideas, use a domain checker to see if the domain is available. Once that's done,

it's time to register it.

You have three options:

claim a free domain,

buy a domain, or

use an existing domain.

Choose "claim a free domain.

" Enter your domain name and select a domain extension.

Complete the domain name registration.

Select primary details, specify your country and the type of domain (personal or company), and enter contact details.

The registration process will take a while, so wait until it is complete.

Step 6:

Enable SSL

SSL is a security protocol that creates an encrypted connection between a web server and a browser.

Any kind of website benefits from an added layer of security. Not only does an SSL certificate help ensure the protection of customer's data, but it also improves the site's position on search engine results and its credibility.

To enable SSL,

navigate to your SSL certificates from the menu at the top.

Then click setup next to the SSL certificate that is pending installation.

Choose the website, click install SSL.

Step 7:

Choose a theme Now we can start designing our affiliate website. Hiring a web designer is an option, but it could be expensive.

Luckily, the WordPress platform offers a user-friendly interface and over 8,000 free and premium WordPress themes. Some designs are suitable for all types of websites, while others
